Website Accessibility Statement

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We've also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. This is always under review and we will continue to make every piece of information easy to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
  • live video streams do not have captions
  • images published on our website aim to be compliant with accessibility standards including alt text; however some images may not contain alt text where they are used for testing parts of the website rather than being part of published content, and we are reviewing any historical images that can be accessed in this way

Technical information about this website's accessibility

Enjoy Enfield is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).

We plan to add text alternatives for all images. When we publish new content we'll make sure our use of images meets accessibility standards.

We also plan to make changes based on issues discovered in accessibility reviews, including:

  • adding a pause function to carousels to improve focus
  • addressing contrast issues with colours on certain links
  • fixing issues with ARIA attributes
  • improving keyboard tabbing through content

We are working to address these issues through ongoing improvements to the website.

Disproportionate burden

Some forms may be built and hosted through third-party software and “skinned” to look like our website.

We've assessed the cost of fixing certain issues relating to navigation, accessing information, and interactive tools and transactions. We believe that doing so immediately would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will reassess this as systems and supplier arrangements change.

What we're doing to improve accessibility

Our website accessibility is reviewed on an ongoing basis. We regularly prioritise fixes and improvements as issues are identified through testing, feedback and content updates.

Preparation of this accessibility statement
